Kerala Food Atlas

About

An atlas of Kerala cooking

Kerala food travelled with Malayalis to the Gulf, Britain, North America, Singapore and Australia. This is an independent attempt to map where you can find it — honestly, with sources.

What we cover

Restaurants whose cooking is genuinely Kerala-focused, or that have a meaningful, verifiable Kerala section on the menu. We label each one as a Kerala restaurant, a Kerala specialty restaurant, or a broader restaurant that serves Kerala dishes. We never decide this from an owner’s name or background — only from the menu, the business’s own description, or structured cuisine data.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t invent restaurants, addresses, phone numbers, opening hours or ratings. If we don’t know something, we say so.
  • We don’t copy listings, reviews or photos from map platforms or review sites.
  • We don’t sell listings or awards. Any advertising is labelled and kept separate from editorial decisions.
  • We don’t claim to be complete. If we’re missing somewhere, tell us.

How listings are verified

Each listing shows its status: Unverified (found in open data and passed automated checks), Owner confirmed (the restaurant verified its details), or Editor verified (we checked against primary sources). Read the methodology for details.

Name

“Kerala Food Atlas” is a working title. The award symbol is an original banana-leaf design.
